Hey, I'm Gabrielle,

I'm the kind of Marriage Celebrant who doesn’t do boring ceremonies. Instead, I create personalised wedding ceremonies that feel genuinely you. Expect laughter, happy tears, engaging storytelling, and a ceremony that draws your guests in and makes them feel part of the celebration.

I'm based in Wollongong and work with couples across the NSW Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands to craft ceremonies that are personal, meaningful, and genuinely memorable, no matter which package you choose.

And the journey there? Relaxed, well organised, easy, and actually enjoyable, often with a celebratory glass of bubbles in hand.

My Approach

I bring a engaging energy to the ceremony, warmth to the words spoken with genuine meaning, a natural sense of timing, light and fun when it suits, and sincere when it matters. There are no awkward stiffness, cliches, waffling. You won’t find generic scripted delivery, exaggerated arm-waving or attempts at stand-up comedy either.

Instead, your guests will laugh through moments they feel genuinely connect with, feel a ceremony filled with heart and meaning, and remember your wedding ceremony long after.

Your wedding ceremony is tailored to suit your style and tone, from traditional to themed. And I'll dress for the part.

Yesterday’s South Coast Wedding Fair felt more like a party than a wedding fair. Oysters, cocktails, cake tasting and lots of chats with engaged couples planning their South Coast wedding.

A highlight was seeing Ceilidh from @tidebond exhibiting as a vendor, knowing I’ll also have the honour of marrying her and Josh in September.

I also spent part of the day with what I’m calling a confetti of celebrants, which could be the official collective noun. Or a pronouncement of celebrants? A great crew of people

Unless it’s a short wedding ceremony, take the time to place *name* reserved seat. It helps assure grandparents and others close to the couple to know where to sit and not be left in row 4. Reserve signs are OK but it can cause confusion.

I ask couples to provide me with a list or instructions so I can assist on the day pre wedding ceremony moments. And to avoid me feeling like club door bouncer and less pre ceremony stress, specific names on ceremony seats works a treat.

And then we are ready to flow into your ceremony🥰

And yes I have heard a rustling in the nearby bushes pre ceremony, I know the sound of a snake in the bushes!

It’s a full circle magic moment💛Officiating my former student’s Wollongong wedding.

When you once guided them in learning and navigating senior school and now you’re guiding them in one of life’s milestones, it’s such a special full circle day.

Congratulations newly weds, Natalie and Alex🥂 A short and sweet ceremony, married at 1pm on 23rd of the 4th month because 12.34 is a significant daily love message and at the place of their first date.

I love my community. And of course it’s Wollongong. I once worked with his mum and my husband went to uni with his dad, he grew up a few streets away….

Rituals matter so much, they give us a way to connect,to feel held in moments that are often too big for words. Our traditions all do the same things - honour change, whether in love or loss🐝💛

And I wonder if the beekeepers who follow here do this ritual?

The truth is, I said yes to leading the funeral because it was for him. When you’re stood beside a couple on one of the best days of their lives to say “I do”, and a few years later you’re asked to stand with them on one of their hardest days, you don’t hesitate. I said yes. I wasn’t ready but I quickly became ready.

Funeral celebrant preparation?

I talked to experienced funeral celebrants, funeral directors, I did my research, I listen to others speak about their loved one’s funeral. I’m grateful I got to meet with them before he passed and taking a quite moment to acknowledge him, not in a ritual way, an extended silence to recognise his life mattered and I’m entrusted with part of it.

And I meet with his wife. Time together… Ill put the kettle on …

When writing, I’m aware of the shift in purpose. With weddings it’s about building forward momentum, anticipation, showing the brightest version of their connection, it’s uplifting.

With funerals the work is still storytelling, but the direction changes. Im holding what was. The writing is slower, more restrained, gathering the energy inward, the language is softer.

I make sure I don’t take any ‘wedding warmth’ into my funeral writing nor take my ‘funeral weight’ into a wedding day, writing or meeting couples. How? Allow enough space in between.

Ocean swims, bike rides, dog walks, more chocolate. And laughter. Finding moments of happiness in each day.

And again I’m reminded of our huge capacity to love.

A wedding ring bearer with a difference. This little Italian leather heart bag began life as a Valentine’s Day gift… but the moment it was unwrapped, both of us had the same thought.

“I can use this in my wedding ceremonies”.

‘And just like that’, it becomes something that holds a moment of anticipation.

❤️Instead of the traditional ring box, the couple unzip the heart to reveal their rings or vows. It becomes a focus point, certainly larger than a ring box.

It opens the door for a young family member to be part of the ceremony.

A fuss free wedding with loads of personality🥰
The bride and bridesmaid paddle boarded into the Callala Bay cove beach for the surprised starter of the wedding ceremony.

Congratulations Jordan and Kim, hitched at high tide.

I loved how a fuss free wedding ceremony still has lots of personality including Labrador Reggie, the ring bearer.

I arrived with the rake, the umbrellas, the table, chairs, and helped the dads and groom set up the arbour and prep the ceremony space.
